This was a mad bash. There were only a few people present, but it was still a good laugh.
Map 1 - Flagrun
The first map of the bash. It started off the same as most maps start, a couple of quick caps and then settle down for some constant action. The start of this map had to be Major_Rampage, who I think it the brother of a Jackal. Or was it son? Or was that Damien? I dunno, It's very late. Anyway, nothing could stop him from capping flags left right and centre.
I ended up getting killed many times in the beginning by Cheese and Farrell, much to my dissatisfaction :) But, once I got my 'eye in' the sniper rifle did the talking. Halfway through the map, we had forced the blue team back into their own base, but [DS]Daemon and I were getting pummelled as snipers behind enemy lines. It was time for HWguys. Backed up by Soldier Lyset and his 'rockets that never miss' we over-ran the blue team's flag room, taking out their SG's very quickly. WhatNoCheese? made a valiant attempt to halt our advance with some cunning sentry gun building ann placement whilst the 'new boy' Johnny Park did some damage with a HWguy, but in the end, the red team precailed. Hurrah!!

Map 2 - Casbah
This was one very, very close map. Non-stop action from start to finish. I was on defence most of the time as an engineer. Both teams constantly attacked the other's flags, with blue team scoring significant successes in the first 10 minutes. After that, we (the red team) managed to defend our flag a bit more successfully. My sentry gun and also to a certain extent my shotgun repelled most of Bold's scout runs, although the slimey devil slipped through my hands a couple of times.
With just me on defence most of the time, the rest of the red team concentrated on attacking the enemy flag. This worked for a while as lyset and major_rampage brought the team scores even. This is where I got bored and started attacking as well, getting one cap before realising bold had destroyed my SG and stolen the flag. From then on I went back to defence (this time more unsuccessfully) and tried to hold off the advancing attack. It was neck and neck all the way to the end, and thats the way it stayed. A draw. Great game.

Map 3 - Rock2
Undecided as to which map to play next, votes were cast for Rock2, the old classic. It started off fairly well, with both teams establishing enough defenses to prevent the usuall gas release that comes within the first 30 seconds of the map. Bold constructed a SG near the wardens office whilst I built one in the lobby. The blue team constructed SG's in their yard and started quite a constant attack. WhatNoCheese? released the gas a couple of times for us, but then things settled down. I had to remain in our front entrance area as ::Skrutt:: was slipping past my sentry gun a bit too frequently. A dispenser in one of the doorways and my shotgun in his face made sure that he didnt have an easy way through.
After a while, red team (us) had to go on the defence again, as the blue attack became stronger. Bold and I constructed a 2 sentry gun 'snare' on the way to our warden's office. This made it possible for us to go on the attack again. No meesing about, through the front door and EMP everything. We managed to cap the flag a couple more times and the map ended 4-0 to the red team. Hurrah again!

Map 4 - Push
Push. A map that I'd never really played before. I wasnt ready for what would happen next. It was basically a scout rush to collect the football (sorry merikans :) and take it to the enemy capture point. Of course, bold was a scout to start with, and no-one could catch that slippery devil. Later, we realised it is more effect to defend with HWguys than scouts, so the red team slowed the constant capping of the flag by the blue team.
After a while, and a couple of wins for us, I changed to a pyro to have som fun. I think I got about 3 kills the rest of the match, but it was damn fun getting there.
Oh yeah, and whatever you do, stay away from agrajag (ghandi) when he's a medic. Wanna know why? Go on the opposite team to him and find out :)

All in all, it was a really good bash. A great level of teamwork was shown by both teams (apart from push, but that doesnt count :) and the atmosphere was good. looking forward to the next one...
